Meet Taxwell
Taxwell is a leading digital tax filing platform supporting approximately 800 full-time employees and 300–500 seasonal workers across the United States. During tax season, its workforce faces long hours, high call volumes, and intense service expectations, making employee morale and retention critical to business performance.
The challenge
Before DoorDash for Business, Taxwell’s employee engagement and communications team was manually coordinating weekly meals across multiple offices and local restaurants, juggling dietary needs, headcounts, and logistics. This process consumed roughly 20 hours a week for a single employee engagement manager, plus hands-on support from several colleagues, and still resulted in leftover food and inconsistent experiences across offices.

Before DoorDash for Business, our team was glued to spreadsheets and sticky notes, coordinating multiple restaurants every week across offices and shifts. It became a 20‑hour‑a‑week job on top of everything else, and we still struggled with leftovers, missed dietary needs, and an inconsistent experience for employees.
The solution
Taxwell adopted DoorDash for Business to boost engagement and retention with recurring bi-weekly meal credits, while DashPass helped eliminate delivery fees and lower service fees so every dollar went further. For example, if an employee placed three orders a week and saved an average of $4 to $5 dollars in delivery and service fees per order, that was around $12 to $15 dollars in weekly savings per employee. At Taxwell’s current order volume, laddered up to approximately $61,000 dollars in annual avoided fees.

Free delivery is a big deal. DashPass helped us see a clear uptick in meal credit usage, and our employees are genuinely excited about this benefit, especially as food costs rise.

By shifting to DoorDash for Business, Taxwell eliminated manual vendor coordination, reclaimed an estimated 20 hours per week of admin time, and simplified reporting and budgeting through the Insights Dashboard. Employees gain flexible, personalized meals that fit different shifts, time zones, and dietary needs, and leaders have seen a noticeable drop in Monday call-outs from burned-out seasonal staff.
Meal programs like this are also backed by broader data, with a recent DoorDash for Business survey finding that 85% of employees say meal benefits make them feel more appreciated and satisfied with their employer.*
With over 500,000 local and national merchants, DoorDash for Business gives companies unmatched restaurant variety and coverage from major cities to small towns across the U.S.

DoorDash is able to service 99%, maybe 99.5% of our employees — even in very remote areas.

Looking ahead
Taxwell now treats meal benefits as a strategic lever for retention and engagement, using DoorDash for Business year-round for employee perks, end-of-season celebrations, and remote-inclusive events. They expect more managers to request recurring meal credits and DashPass access for their teams, using flexible budgets and clear reporting to align meal programs with evolving employee needs.

No regrets — DoorDash for Business has been an amazing decision. It saves so much time and lets our team focus on other programs while still delivering a benefit our employees love.
